Softball Australia is the national governing body for softball in Australia, responsible for the management, coordination, development and promotion of softball, Australia wide. With a thriving community of players, coaches and supportive fans, Softball Australia hosts ground-breaking events and programs, whilst running the high-performance sector of the sport and curating participation from the grass-root levels to elite success.

Softball Australia is embarking on an ambitious and exciting new strategy and as a result, are currently seeking to recruit a ‘Senior Participation Coordinator’ in the Northern Territory.

About the role

As the successful applicant you will oversee and drive the growth of softball in the Northern Territory with an initial focus in Darwin. Provide support and servicing to key stakeholders including schools, associations and clubs to implement a sustainable participation model in line with the strategic objectives of Softball Australia.

As the successful applicant you will work closely with schools, softball associations and clubs to support the delivery of fun, high-quality programs and competitions and drive the promotion of softball to increase membership and participation.

You will support the identification of grant funding opportunities to increase investment in participation and Identify opportunities to further support the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island community to provide positive community softball experiences.

About you

We are looking for a self-motivated person who demonstrates a passion for community sports with strong interpersonal skills.

As an individual you are a creative thinker, highly ambitious, and have a keen interest in the future of sport.

Ideally you will have

• Experience in the planning and delivery of sport participation programs, particularly in schools

• An active, outgoing personality, and motivation to achieve positive outcomes.

• Outstanding attention to detail, and an understanding that the little things matter.

• Passion for and understanding of volunteers, community sport and/or softball.

• Ability to confidently present information to groups of people.

• Demonstrated self-starter and excellent time management skills

Essential Requirements

A current driver's license (access to a work vehicle for program delivery is provided)

You will manage your work commitments to ensure a work life balance, as significant work outside of hours and weekends is required.

Current Working with Children Clearance.

National Police Check

Fixed term full-time position to June 30, 2024, with the potential for extension.
